01 — First Time Here?

This Isn't a 10-Minute Consult

Most clinics are built around throughput. You wait. You get seven minutes. You leave with a script and a sense that nobody actually heard you. We built Sohma House around the opposite principle.

Your first appointment is 60 minutes. Your practitioner has already read your intake form before you walk in. No clipboard in the waiting room. No repeating yourself to a new face every visit. The conversation starts where it should — with your story, your concerns, and what you actually want to change.

We're an integrative medical clinic. That means your GP, naturopath, herbalist, physiotherapist, and dietitian work under one roof, share one clinical record, and build one plan. Not five separate appointments at five separate clinics producing five separate opinions.

One patient. One record. One team. One plan.

02 — Complete Intake Forms

We Read Your Story Before You Arrive

After booking, you'll receive a secure digital intake form by email. Fill it out at home, at your pace — ideally at least 24 hours before your appointment. It covers your full health history, current medications, symptoms, and what you've already tried.

Your practitioner reviews everything before your consultation begins. This means the first thing they say isn't "so, what brings you in today?" — it's "I've read through your history, and I want to understand more about..." That distinction matters. It's the difference between catching up and actually listening.

03 — How to Prepare

Bring What You Have. We'll Fill in the Gaps.

If you have recent blood work, imaging, specialist letters, or a list of current medications — bring them. They help us build the full picture faster. But they're not required. If your results keep coming back "normal" and you still feel unwell, that tells us something too.

Jot down your top concerns. Think about your health timeline — when things started, what triggers flare-ups, what's made things better or worse. Think about your goals — not just symptom relief, but what you want your life to look like when you're well.

Bring

  • Recent blood work or pathology
  • Specialist letters or imaging
  • Current medication list
  • Your questions and concerns

Know

  • When symptoms started
  • What triggers flare-ups
  • What you've already tried
  • What your health goals are

Don't have records? No problem. We can request them from your GP with your consent, or start fresh. No one gets turned away for not having a file.

Most clinics rush you. We give you 60 minutes to say everything you need to say.

04 — What to Expect

From the Moment You Walk In, You'll Notice a Different Pace

Arrive 10 minutes early. There's free on-site parking with accessible bays, and the clinic is ground-floor with step-free entry. Our reception team will greet you by name, offer you tea or water, and show you to a comfortable space.

No sterile waiting rooms. No fluorescent lights. No hour-long delays. The space is designed around nervous system regulation — warm lighting, natural materials, quiet. It's the clinical environment your body actually needs to be honest in.

When your practitioner is ready, you'll move into a private consultation room. Your 60 minutes starts here.

05 — Your First Consultation

60 Minutes. Because Real Listening Takes Time.

Your initial consultation is unhurried. You'll have space to share your full story — your symptoms, your history, your frustrations, and what you hope to achieve. Your practitioner will ask questions that connect dots most clinics don't look for: how your sleep affects your digestion, how your stress patterns show up in your body, how your history shapes your present.

This isn't a checklist. It's a clinical conversation designed to understand the full complexity of your presentation. Your practitioner may use traditional diagnostic methods — tongue and pulse assessment, constitutional analysis — alongside functional pathology that goes deeper than standard blood work.

You'll leave with a written plan. Not confusion. Not "let's try this and see." If tests are needed, we'll explain why. If referrals make sense, we'll coordinate them. Every next step is clear before you walk out the door.

01

Deep History Review

Your full story — symptoms, timeline, triggers, what you've already tried, and what matters to you.

02

Clinical Assessment

Physical assessment, traditional diagnostics, and identification of patterns connecting your symptoms.

03

Written Treatment Plan

Clear next steps, any required tests explained, referrals coordinated. You leave knowing exactly what happens next.

06 — Team-Based Care

Your Case Is Reviewed by the Whole Team

After your initial consultation, your case enters our multidisciplinary review process. Your GP, naturopath, herbalist, dietitian, and physiotherapist review your presentation together — not in silos, not through referral letters that arrive three weeks late, but in structured clinical discussions where your full picture is visible to everyone involved in your care.

This produces one unified plan. Not five separate opinions from five separate practitioners who've each seen one slice of your health. The team identifies where treatments reinforce each other, where they might conflict, and where gaps exist that no single practitioner would catch alone.

For you, this means less repetition, fewer contradictions between practitioners, and a care plan that actually holds together. For complex or chronic conditions, this coordination is the difference between scattered interventions and coherent care.

Multiple specialists reviewing your case together, building one plan. Not five separate appointments producing five separate opinions.
